BOMB THREAT AT COURTHOUSE / GUN THREAT AT HOSPITAL

Some scary moments Tuesday morning, when a bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Union County Courthouse. The threat was phoned in just before 10am yesterday, when a male caller said there were bombs planted in the courthouse that were set to detonate in 30 minutes. Everyone was immediately evacuated , and police and fire fighters went in and searched the entire building. No devices were found. About an hour later, everyone was allowed back inside. An active investigation is underway and investigators say they are following up on leads and some tips. The Grande Ronde Hospital Regional Medical Clinic on Fourth Street was evacuated Tuesday afternoon, after a patient there forgot he had a firearm in his possession while in the building. It all began yesterday around 3pm, but it was quickly determined not to be a threat, and no one was arrested because in the end, there was no crime.
