SHELTER FROM THE STORM GETS A LIFT FROM BLUE MTN OUTFITTERS

By Newsroom

Some help is on the way for Shelter From the Storm. Jim Whitbeck, the owner of Blue Mountain Outfitters, reached out to Shelter From the Storm recently, to see if they were in need of anything for clients. Turns out, it was perfect timing. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Shelter From the Storm, a domestic violence and sexual assault organization in Island City, was already working with that in mind. A week long coat drive that began on October 23rd, ends on Saturday. Whitbeck is offering tax receipts and a chance to win $50 to every person who donates, and he is also matching every donated coat with a Columbia fleece jacket. The coats will go directly to clients, and if there are any left over they will be used in the Shelter From the Storm Christmas Giving Program.
